The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) issued Labor Advisory No. 08, Series of 2022, last April 1, 2022.
This is pursuant to Proclamation No. 1236 issued by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on October 29, 2021 on rules for payment of wages on regular holidays and special (non-working) days.
Double pay rules shall apply for workers who will render service for the upcoming regular holidays on April 9 (Day of Valor), April 14 (Maundy Thursday), and April 15 (Good Friday). Workers who will not work shall receive 100% of their regular salary, subject to certain requirements under the Labor Code.
For special (non-working) day on April 16, 2022 (Black Saturday), “no work, no pay” principle shall apply, unless there is a favorable Company policy, practice or Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) granting payment on a special day.
